History

The Hitchcock Group is a family owned and operated company servicing Berks County and the surrounding area since 1979.

Services provided: inspections, cleaning of residential and commercial properties, air duct cleaning, fire, water and storm damage restoration, exterior pressure washing, carpet, upholstery and janitorial cleaning.

Incorporation

Hitchcock’s Cleaning was originally started by Keith Hitchcock in 1979. In 1984 the Calvin Seyler family purchased and incorporated Hitchcock’s Cleaning into Hitchcock Enterprises, Inc. At that time there were 4 family members and one employee, who was “inherited” when the business was purchased. The Seylers continued to provide carpet and upholstery cleaning, as well as water damage restoration and cleaning services to smoke damaged houses, as the original owner did. When the new ownership took control, full service fire damage restoration was added due to a backround in construction. From that point Hitchcock’s grew rapidly and became the leading professional provider of restoration services and carpet cleaning in and around Berks County. Janitorial services were added a few short years later and to this day Hitchcock services the first janitorial client they contracted with. In 1996 Hitchcock’s added air duct cleaning to provide commercial and residential indoor air quality and HVAC Hygiene services. Calvin Seyler retired in 2005 and two of his original partners, Lu Ann and Vernon Seyler continue to own, operate and grow the company.
